Is Ryan Seacrest Leaving Wheel of Fortune? Fans Think So

Fans are buzzing online with rumors that Ryan Seacrest might step down from Wheel of Fortune in 2025.

Seacrest, best known for hosting American Idol (which just returned without fan-favorite Katy Perry), took over as host of Wheel of Fortune in September 2024. He replaced Pat Sajak, who had led the iconic game show since 1981.

Now, speculation is growing that Seacrest’s time on the show could be short-lived—especially after new reports about Pat Sajak’s possible return.

Sajak left the show in June 2024 but has mostly stayed off TV since then. However, after appearing on a Celebrity Wheel of Fortune special, insiders say he’s eager to host again.

A source told RadarOnline that Sajak “never wanted to leave in the first place” and was pushed into retirement. Now, he reportedly “wants his old job back.”

This has apparently annoyed Seacrest, who signed a multi-year deal with ABC. The insider claims Seacrest thinks Sajak is “being a sore loser” and has no chance of returning.

Meanwhile, ratings have improved under Seacrest, though some longtime fans still prefer Sajak’s style. There have even been rumors that Seacrest regrets taking the job, calling the fan backlash a “dumpster fire.”

Another twist? Some believe Sajak’s daughter, Maggie, could replace Seacrest if he leaves. A source told The Sun that Maggie is ready to step in if needed, calling her a natural fit for the show.

For now, Seacrest remains the host, but with his contract reportedly only lasting two years, the future of Wheel of Fortune is uncertain.

Will Seacrest stay? Will Sajak return? Or could Maggie take over? Only time will tell—but for now, the drama behind the wheel continues.
